WELCOME

I started Waveski surfing at the age of 10 when my family moved to Cape Town in the early 90's. Just by chance we had an old waveski in our garage and I started paddling as an after school activity. I used to walk to the beach from our house and thus made it easy. I started competing at the age of 16. My 1st notable result was a 2nd in the junior devision at the South African Championships in 2001. Another memorable result was winning the New Age division at the South African Championships in 2007 at Victoria Bay.

I moved to the USA for a number of years where I managed a river rafting company in the summer months in Montana. Summer was filled with whitewater rafting and kayaking and in the winter I would head to California where I would Waveski surf. I won the Davenport Paddlefest as well as the 30th Annual Santa Cruz Paddlefest during my time there.

Big wave waveski surfing is my passion. Waves of consequence where there is little room for error. This is the one place where I find full focus and reach a meditative state. Most people think I'm a little crazy, but ultimatey it's educated risk combined with years of experience that allow me to do what I do.

At current I'm fully focused on World Waveski Titles in Peru 2020 July 17-24. South Africa has an experienced team that can achieve great results. I'll be competing in the senior, open and tag team divisions and plan to bring home some brass! 🇿🇦
